Our Pastor

  • Josh Schultz

I was born in Michigan and grew up in small town Wisconsin. I never wanted to be a pastor growing up. In fact, I distinctly remember laughing out loud when one of my high school teachers suggested I consider it! I’m not exactly sure what changed my mind. Scratch that….. I do. God’s grace changed my mind and it still does over and over again. That’s why I am a pastor. I consider it pure joy to be able to share God’s amazing love with others.

I started my journey at Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN and graduated in 2011. There I received a BA in Classical Languages focusing on the Biblical languages of Greek and Hebrew. I enjoyed playing on the football and baseball teams there and spending my summers in Alaska working as a deck-hand on a commercial fishing boat. I continued my studies for four more years at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, WI. There I continued my Biblical language studies along with preaching, teaching, pastoral care, etc. I spent my internship year in Brookings, SD at Our Savior Lutheran Church from 2013-2014. I graduated in 2015 with a Master of Divinity.

At the time of my graduation, I was called to serve as a high school campus pastor at Michigan Lutheran Seminary in Saginaw, MI. There I taught Church History, Revelation, coached football and baseball, managed the dormitory, and even drove some bus.

After two years, God called me to Mountain View Lutheran here in Great Falls, MT. I started in July 2017. It has been an amazing time so far as I get to do what I love most: tell others about their Savior Jesus.

I’m joined by my wonderful wife Rachel, who I met at MLC and married in 2014. We have three daughters, Reese, Brynn, and Blakelynn. God is good!

I love meeting people, hearing their stories, and having honest conversations about faith. It would be my pleasure to get to know you over lunch or a cup of coffee. Let me know what time works for you!
